My husband and I have been visiting Rhodes for many year and we have found the perfect place to relax. Kalathos is the most relaxing place to be. There is nothing to do in this little village which would suit a few people who do not want to exert themselves exept to hold a glass to their mouths. There are a few restuarants in the area. Castellos bar is a lovely welcoming place. The family (and the Greeks) are so nice and nothing is a bother to them. If you are passing call in they will make you feel welcome and not a stranger. Try it!

I lived and worked in Kalathos for 2 years and have many friends in the village. I am now in the UK and miss these people very much. I would not like to say where to go, as every where is a credit to the place and my friends are allways there, but I love this place and the people very much, AIMI xxx

My wife and I spent 2 weeks here in 2002 and are now looking to go again, if I can find a company that goes there. We stayed at the Elli B&B, nice people but rooms too small and no air con. but cheap. The bar and car hire next door were very friendly and could not do enough for you, we hired a car and a jeep from them, not at the same time of course, and found their prices fair. The chairs in their bar were great and along with the 3 brothers that ran it, for mum and dad, made it the best bar in Kalathos. We found it was also a great place to see the rest of the island from, the previous time we had been in Rhodes we stayed near Rhodes Town and found it a long way to the other end of the island. For a small village it has plenty of resturants, we used a different one almost every night. The beach is brilliant but not if you like the shallow sandy child friendly sort.
